A South Korean film is currently shooting in Davao, Philippines.
According to Department of Tourism-XI Regional Director Art Boncato, it all started during the 26th Korean World Travel Fair last June of this year as contingents from Davao set off to participate in the said event. The producers of the film were reportedly impressed by how his group promoted Davao's richly preserved natural resources, the hospitality of the people and its cleanliness for which Davao is famously known for.
Boncato said targeting filmmakers is part of their strategy to help promote and position the Queen City of the South as part of tourism for the Korean market since Koreans are one of the top tourists patronizing the country.
Last August 6, Korean actors and film producers for the said film, which has the working title, "No Breathing," arrived in the Philippines and boarded a plane bound for Davao for their seven-day tour around Davao to finalize their shooting locations and arrangement.
The movie follows the story of two male swimmers competing for the top spot for the national team and will eventually fall for the same girl. This is going to be starred by model/actor Lee Jong-Suk, singer/actor Seo In-Guk and singer/actress Kwon Yuri who is also part of the popular K-Pop girl group Girls’ Generation.
Scenes taken in Davao will reportedly run for 15 minutes in the film and will feature some of its coastal areas and highland spots.
The movie will be released in the latter part of the year.
