ABS-CBN and its various free-to-air and cable channels will be airing the movies of the late Fernando Poe Jr. as a gift to the fans of the King of Philippine Cinema on his 74th birthday and to showcase his legacy and contribution to the movie industry and the Filipino masses.
With ABS-CBN’s unmatched reach in the country and worldwide, viewers can choose to watch a variety of FPJ movies whenever they want on its platforms with the relaunch of the FPJ movie timeblock on Channel 2 with the handle “FPJ, Da King,” and the new movie blocks “FPJ, Ang Nag-iisang Alamat” on Studio 23; “FPJ, Ang Hari ng Pinoy Cinema” on Cinema One; “FPJ, Ang Da King Magpakailanman” on Jeepney TV; and “FPJ, Ang Simbolo ng Pilipino” on The Filipino Channel (TFC).
Weeks leading to the launch, “Banana Split Extra Scoop” and Studio 23’s “Gag U” will present FPJ-inspired skits and FPJ impersonators, while Sunday musical variety show “ASAP 18” will feature some of the most memorable theme songs in FJP’s films in a special number.
Kapamilyas can also watch out for the FPJ trivia contests on DZMM and MOR 101.9, as and the re-airing on Cinema One of “Alay ni Da King: An FPJ Special,” a TV special examining FPJ as an artist, a cultural icon, a friend and colleague, and an idol of the masses.
ABS-CBN recently acquired the rights to FPJ’s exclusive movie library, a collection of classic movie titles that FPJ starred in, wrote, directed, and produced.
Watch out for FPJ movies soon on ABS-CBN, Studio 23, Cinema One, Jeepney TV, and TFC.
