Forbes magazine has released its annual list of 50 richest people in the Philippines, which includes the head honchos of some of the largest companies in the country.
For the sixth consecutive year, Henry Sy of SM group topped the list, with an estimated net worth of $12 billion. That's $2.9 billion more than the mall tycoon's net worth a year ago.
Second in the list is Phillip Morris Fortune Tobacco's Lucio Tan, with a net worth of $7.5 billion, while Andrew Tan of Megaworld, whose wealth is estimated at $4.6 billion, is third.
Based on Forbes list, the Philippines now has 17 billionaires and the collective wealth of the 50 individuals, which is $65.8 billion, comprises over a quarter of the total gross product of the country.
