Insidious sequel tops US box office |
During its day of release, "Insidious Chapter 2" reportedly earned $20 million, which is the highest September opening day in history. The movie's excellent release date, as well as the strong reputation of its predecessor, are being credited for its success.
The James Wan-helmed film follows the story of the haunted Lambert family who seeks to uncover the mysterious childhood secret that has left them dangerously connected to the spirit world. It stars Patrick Wilson, Rose Byrne, Barbara Hershey, among others.
