"Pee Mak," a Thai horror movie starring Penshoppe endorser Mario Maurer, is set to be shown in the Philippines next month.
Star Cinema will be releasing the blockbuster film on August 28, 2013. The movie, which tells a scary but funny tale of great love shared through Thailand’s popular legend of Pee Mak and his ghost wife Nak (Davika Hoorne), is the highest grossing Thai movie of all Time, earning more than $33 million.
"Pee Mak's" plot is as follows: "Some time during the Rattanakosin Kingdom, Mak (Mario Maurer) becomes a soldier and has to leave his pregnant wife Nak (Davika Hoorne) at home in Phra Khanong. In the distant frontline he meets four soldiers who become his best friends. Meanwhile his wife Nak struggles to give birth to their baby alone.
"When the war is over, Mak invites his friends to go to his home and meet his beautiful wife Nak. But in Phra Khanong the rumor goes around town that Nak is a ghost. After a series of uncanny events his four friends and some villagers try to tell Mak that his wife is already dead.

Also in the movie are Thailand’s funny foursome namely, Nuttapong Chartpong, Pongsatorn Jongwilas, Kantapat Permpoonpatcharasuk and Attharut Khongrasri. It was directed by Banjong Pisanthanakun, who had previously helmed box-office horror films like “Shutter”, “4BIA” and “Phobia 2.”
