Kim Chiu's Mother, Louella, Dies At 50

Kim Chiu's mother, Louella Yap Chiu, died Sunday due to an undisclosed illness. She was 50 years old.

It was just recently that the "Ina, Kapatid, Anak" star reunited with her mom, who she has not seen in years.

Kim and her siblings grew up in the care of her paternal grandmother in Cebu after their parents separated when the actress was just 9 years old.

During Kim's freshman year in high school, Louella had to leave for Hong Kong, so her dad and his new family took her and her siblings under their wing.

A June 21 report on the Philippine Star stated that Louella recently went into coma following a heart attack.
